Inca

My little darling girl died last night. It was quick and peaceful. She was on her bed and suddenly let out a moaning sound. I went in and she was laying on her side, breathing in gasps. I talked to her and stroked her gently.  It took only a few seconds.
She was an old lady of 21 years, she'd been with me all her life and nearly half of mine. She was a lovely little character and I loved her so much.

Enjoying life

Inca's been having a few problems eating over the last week or so. We took her to the vet and I was worried that they would have to give her a general to sort it out, but luckily they were able to remove some tartar with just a light sedation. She has an infection where it had been pressing into her gum but after a few days of antibiotics, she seems much happier, eating well again and obviously enjoying life!
Apart from a short ride on Corky the other day, I've done nothing with the horses for a while. It was such a lovely day today and I took Remy into the school. A short session working on relaxation with a low neck in-hand and then a short sit-on asking for walk/halt transitions.

Inca

Jim took these the other day. This is Inca, she's an old lady, we've just worked out that she's about 18yrs old. She has a brilliant life here with mum (me) waiting on her hand and foot!!
