Venturing out from the gloom

We've been doing this over the last few days. The snow has gone, but we've had days of rain. Now we're getting drier, colder weather, with brief but very welcome sunny spells.
I had a short in-hand session with both Remy and Bonbon today, working with a cavesson on a small circle asking for relaxation, slight inside bend and lowering of the head and neck. They were both focussed and well behaved. After the in-hand with Remy, we had a mat session which he seemed to enjoy.

That sounds gently rewarding.

Good work. Now I know what I'm doing in the "ARENA" tomorrow.

Hey YOU!
I'm in a gllom now...please post-need help!
on a good note...did a small amount of in hand( I'd love to see videos of you doing all sorts of things- point me to the archive) Wa did well. And I even got on after some ground poll work...she did not eat me. I think the ground work may be the cure for the in saddle..."after". Thanks

I agree, I think the groundwork - In-hand is so good to help the ridden work. Unfortunately, I'm learning the in-hand having never really done it before. I've been banging my head about it for the last few months, not being able to get to grips with it but I've got a good friend (Trudi) who kicks my backside every now and then to keep me going. I'll try and get some video that might make some sense. LOL
There's lots of stuff online, do a search on youtube, it may help - or not, if it fills your head with all different methods etc. Good luck and keep at it, it is well worth the effort.
