I contacted several animal refuge centres as to the availability of a puppy, and within about 30 minutes received an email from one of them saying that they had two puppies that had been found dumped on the road the week before. They were about 9 weeks old and as luck would have it, they were in a foster home only 25 mins up the road.
We had to go and look at them, and as Jim said, we can't take just the one......so we have them both!
They're called Scarlett and Izzy, the vet thinks that they're probably beauceron x lab and they're absolutely gorgeous.
This is the pic they sent me, how could we resist!
Once we'd got them home,they started to settle in immediately.
The even better news is that today I rode out on Bonbon with my friend on her horse, and Bonbon was brilliant. I'm hoping for many more rides like today and if she carries on she'll really start to get fit and we can go farther afield! :-)

Oh, they're just adorable!! I would have taken them both as well. Puppies bring such joy (and work) into our lives...have fun! I've never heard of a Beauceron (?) before. Is that a hound?
Hi C-ingspots, it's a old french breed of herding dog, similar to a doberman.
Don't they call them "Bas-Rouge" as well? I remember Beaucerons being very prevalent when I was in France. Very striking looking puppies. They're going to be tall.
