The horses stayed in last night as we expected feu d'artifice (fireworks) from the fete.. It didn't happen, I feel sad for all the efforts that had gone into it only to be rained off!!
So the horses went out first thing and were glad to go out to lovely sunny weather.
They've just come galloping up the field, Anky in the lead, she had a buck and a squeal and a general scamper about so I think she's feeling a bit better.
I've made soup with one of our pumpkins, it's rather nice.

I love pumpkin soup. The color alone is a feast for the eyes. Yummm
Me too, love soupe à la citrouille, although the french make it a little bland sometimes (love a pinch of cumin to spice it up). It's also your new best mate's favourite soup, I won't tell her or she'll be very jealous, lol.
Do yours really bother with fireworks? Ours don't seem to notice, mind you Moo didn't blink when the French airforce did a topgun right overhead last week. On the other hand stuff like that freaks me out.
Exotic food for a Scandinavian, lol! What does it taste like?
It's rather nice, I roast the pumpkin with cumin seeds and a chopped chilli, then blend it with some veggie stock and creme fraiche. I'll bring you one over Trudi and you can make Lydia some soup!!
Trudi, last year we didn't know about the fireworks and they were in the field. Anky was stood on guard at the front and the other three were standing under the tree wondering if they should panic or not. We both reckoned that if Anky started to panic they would all freak out, they were watching her like hawks. Anyway she was very brave and just stood her ground and they coped ok. They don't worry at all when the jets fly over but I hate them.
Oh excellent Di but remember you will probably then be her best friend for LIFE. Totally understand re the fireworks, it ain't worth the risk.
ps I never get offered the option of email alerts to new posts on your blog, is it something I'm doing wrong? 'cos I hate to be rude and miss replying :-D
Oh, I don't know about that \i'll check the settings to see if \i can alter it. Hee hee, I'm looking forward to friday.
