I didn't ride today as it was miserable and raining, but I took Remy into the school yesterday. It was an ok session, but he was a little tense, had a big spook at something and wasn't as relaxed as he has been.
We're just starting the travers so worked a little on that, with some shoulder-in and then practiced some reinback to trot transitions. I don't think he's doing too badly with the travers and seems to be understanding what I'm asking.
He was a little distracted today, but I realise that he needs to be rounder, much more relaxed through his neck and genuinely give his mouth. Of course that's down to me and I need to ride him better, pay more attention to my position and generally stop riding like a bag of spuds!!
Jim did a little vid.

That trot is really coming on!
Wow...looks nice on that day there!
I'm so not an expert at what you're doing..but when my sissy has me practicing, she only has me do the move once or twice correctly. If my horse resists or tenses..we move on and make sure the moves I do get are correct- for muscle memory sake. We add correct steps each session, stopping only on the ones that are correctly performed. That's my sisters thing...have them remember doing it correctly, last go of it.
Oh my word, his backing to forward, very swinging trot...so beautifully done Di. He looks so relaxed and happy!!! He is starting to really get it!! Lovely.
And I adore your rail shadowed long wall ! It's so perfect!
I'm falling back and regrouping for saddle fit evaluations. I'm totally disturbed with my current Co. Response( lack of) to help me not hurt my horse with their saddle.I bought. I long to do what you are doing!! Alas, maybe in the new year I may ride in the arena on a laundered saddle!
Keep up the awesome work. You are such a beautiful TEAM!
